Description

सत्तांतर (Sattaantar) is a Marathi novel by Vyankatesh Madgulkar, first published in 1961. It is a historical novel set in the period of the Indian independence movement, and tells the story of a young man who is drawn into the struggle for freedom. The novel is set in the town of Satara, in the princely state of Kolhapur. The protagonist, Balu, is a young man from a poor family who is studying to be a teacher. Sattaantar is a powerful and moving novel that tells the story of one man's journey from ordinary citizen to freedom fighter. It is a story of courage, sacrifice, and hope, and it is a reminder of the sacrifices that were made to achieve India's independence. The novel was published by Mehta Publishing House in 1961. It has been translated into several languages, including English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
